The British Chamber of Commerce held its ‘ Peers & Beers ’ business event at One for the Road English Pub on the evening of October 29. In spite of the very British weather, the event held in association with recruitment firm Michael Page, and business consultancy Dezan Shira & Associates, went off smoothly with 60 people in attendance. The informal seminar, presented by Stephen O’Regan of Dezan Shira, focused on how companies transition from having a Representative Office in China to becoming a Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise (WFOE). Aside from the venue, One for the Road laid on a selection of food and drinks, including British beers and home-made pork pies. “We are a British pub and we want to maintain that identity, and we always want to support these kinds of events and help things develop and grow,” said Jason Cakebread, manager and co-owner One for the Road.
